Synopsis
TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL is a hilariously gory, good-spirited horror comedy, doing for killer rednecks what Shaun of the Dead did for zombies. Tucker and Dale are two best friends on vacation at their dilapidated mountain house, who are mistaken for murderous backwoods hillbillies by a group of obnoxious, preppy college kids. When one of the students gets separated from her friends, the boys try to lend a hand, but as the misunderstanding grows, so does the body count. TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL has been a hit on the festival circuit, debuting at Sundance, and winning the Midnight Audience Award at SXSW, the Jury Prize for First Feature at Fantasia, the Best Director award at Fantaspoa, and the Best Motion Picture Award at Sitges.

Peter Vincent Aims To Win

Midnight Movie By Tobe Hooper

Book Synopsis
The good news: Director Tobe Hooper has been invited to speak at a screening of Destiny Express, a movie he wrote and directed as a teenager but that hasn't seen the light of day in decades. And Hooper's fans are ecstatic.
The bad news: Destiny Express proves to be a killer...literally. As the death toll mounts, Tobe embarks on a desperate journey to understand the film's 30-year-old origins - and put an end to the strange epidemic his creation has set in motion.
Featuring the terror, humor and sly documentary style Hooper devotees remember from such classics as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Midnight Movie is vintage Tobe Hooper, again demonstrating the director's place as one of the godfathers of modern horror.
Midnight Movie will be available at your favorite book retailer on July 12. If history is any judge, prepare for a sleepless night or two.

"Dibbuk Box" becomes "Possession"

The highly thought of and talked about film "Dibbuk Box" has become "Possession". The Sam Raimi film is based on true events and is one that I am really looking forward to. I love demon possession films. Pea soup, body jerks and bug eatin' plus the ever present holy man screaming out his powers of christ or damnations of god. Those things make for compelling story telling. None quite reach "The Exorcist" status , except maybe "Stigmata" which I love love love! Anyway I am rambling. Can't wait to see this one....

Story based on a haunted box purchased on Ebay that brings bad fortune to its possessors. Eventually being passed from one person to the next and causing all sorts of torment.

The film is in the vein of The Exorcist or The Shining, based on real events that transpired after a family wound up in possession of a haunted box, setting off a harrowing struggle to rid themselves of the box's evil curse. The real-life box gained notoriety in 2004 when it sold on eBay after causing inexplicable bad fortune to its owners which were attributed to a dibbuk - a malevolent spirit of Jewish folklore trapped in the haunted box.

ALTERNATE: Morgan will star as a recently divorced father whose youngest daughter becomes strangely connected to an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. As his daughter's behavior becomes more erratic, the father senses a dark presence building until he discovers that the box was built to contain a dibbuk -- a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

"The Sleeper" set to slaughter on Sorority Row soon- say that 5 times fast!

"The Sleeper" trailer is total horror pie! I have only seen the 1 and a half minute tease and already I can see I am gonna love this film. It gives me that same fuzzy feeling that 80's "Sorority Row" and "Christmas Evil" induce when I watch those films with childlike gitty excitement. A soon to be classic and one of my re-watchables. Yeah I can decide that based on a trailer.

This film will premiere Saturday, July 9 at 11 p.m. at Columbus, OH’s Grandview Theatre (1247 Grandview Avenue). Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Written and directed by Justin Russell and produced by Aaron Russell, the movie is about a mysterious killer decimating the girls of Alpha Gamma Theta sorority house.

Germans are gonna see us thru "Hell"

Watching the clip that just released for German post-apocalyptic movie "Hell" has me anticipating the slow fiery demise of the planet, well for at least two hours anyway. The vibe of the film based on this clip alone gives me the impression that it will be a mixture of "The Road" and "28 Days Later". Not quiet as slow and depressing as "The Road" but probably not so rage infected full throttle as "28 Days Later". For me the horror will be fearing for the family while gripping the edge of my seat wondering what kinda psychotic monsters man can become just for survival's sake. To me that is the true terror of "Hell". I hope I will not be disappointed.
It was once the source of life, light and warmth. But now the sun has turned the entire world into a baked and barren wasteland. Forests are scorched. Animal carcasses line the roads. Even the nights are dazzlingly bright.
Maria, her little sister Leonie and Phillip are heading for the mountains in a car with tinted glass. Rumor has it water can still be found there. It is a hazardous trip to nowhere. Along the way, they run into Tom. He turns out to be a first-rate mechanic and becomes indispensible. But can they trust him? The tension grows. As if things weren’t bad enough, they are lured into an ambush and their real battle for survival begins…

“Hell” is scheduled to open in September, 2011.
