My Top Ten Horror Movies To See In 2013!

As we get ready to bring in the new year I am getting excited about the horror movies to be released. So here is my top ten most anticipated horror films for the coming year!

10. World War Z
This film has had it's share of ups and downs as far as production goes but now that it is getting closer to being completed and ready for release in 2013 I am finally getting excited about it. I am a little bothered by the dependency on CGI zombies looking more video game than cinema quality but it is too early to decide for sure how it will come off on screen.

9. The Conjuring
This film has Patrick Wilson so that is all the motivation I need to see it. Plus it is about evil entities and the paranormal. Bonus is this is not a found footage film!

8. John Dies At The End
This has spent awhile around the festival circuit and will finally hit limited release in 2013. From what I have seen and read about this film it should be a fun movie. I never read the book.

7. The ABC's Of Death
This is one of the next crop of anthologies coming out in 2013 that I am excited to see.

6. Crawlspace
This is probably one of the cooler Indie projects that I am eager to see in 2013. It looks to be an intense and thrilling movie experience.

5. The Axeman At Cutter's Creek
This is one of the most original and exciting Slasher projects that I am so anticipating in the coming year. I have covered this film and interviewed the cast and director. Everything about this film excites men.

4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D
A very intriguing film that is a direct sequel to the original 1974 film. Can't wait to see if they do justice to the franchise.

3. Carrie
This version is closer to the original story by Stephen King so I am very excited to see it unfold. Plus Chloe Grace Moretz is a powerful actress that plays dark very well.

2. Mama
A very dark and disturbing story that looks to bring the real scares with it. I am most eager to see just how intense this nightmare turns out.

1. Evil Dead
Hands down this is the most exciting film coming in 2013 for me. It will be a dark and serious horror story that is sad to not hold back on scares. So So So anticipating this film. If I could only see one movie in 2013 this would be that movie!

My Top Ten Mixed Drinks In 2012!

In 2012 I decided to put a mini bar in my home. The result was an interest in creating my own spin on cocktails to enjoy while doing the fun stuff in life. You know Horror movies, Supernatural drama shows and Facebooking. So here are my top ten favorite drinks from my "In The World Of Spirits" blog posts.

10. Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients:
White Wine 1 1/2 oz
Dutch Cream
Strawberry Flavoring (you can find this in coffee isle of grocery store)
Cherries

Add your wine with a handful of ice into your blender. Add about 4 3 oz Dutch Cream and shot of strawberry flavoring. Pulse until fully blended then pour in glass. Drop cherries in glass and drizzle cherry juice over top. Enjoy!

9. The Pomtini Blast

Ingredients
Pomegranate Juice
Pomegranate Schnapps
Vodka
Ice

In a Martini shaker add your liquor and Schnapps over sever pieces of ice. Add just enough Fruit juice to level with the ice barely covering the cubes. Shake well and pour into fave little glass. I take a few of the cubes from the shaker to add to mine but you can leave out the ice.

8. The Manhattan Light

Ingredients
1 oz Martini&Rossi
2 oz J&B
Sprite
Ice
Cherries

Place your ice in your favorite martini glass. Add your two liquors.   Then fill the rest of way with Sprite and throw in the cherries. It keeps the strong thick whiskey yet the Sprite allow for a milder flavor. Still it is a strong drink but I consider it a light cocktail. Enjoy!

7. The Bloody Punch Drink

Ingredients:
2 cps Frozen Strawberries
2 cps Smashin’ Strawberry Minute Maid
1 1/2 oz Vodka
1 1/2 oz Tequila
1 1/2 oz Whiskey
1 1/2 oz Pomegranate schnapps
Sour Mix

In a blinder add your strawberries and Smashin’ Strawberry Minute Maid and blend. Then add your liquors and blend until strawberries are pulverized. Pour liquid into a glass leaving about 2 full inches from rim of glass. Finish off with Sour Mix until only 1/2 space is left from rim to drink level. Stir with a straw and enjoy!

6. The Graveyard

Ingredients:
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Tequila
1/2 oz Rum
1/2 oz Bourbon
Dark Lager and Light Ale

Pour each of the liquors into a tall beer glass then finish off with equal parts light and dark beer. Enjoy and a word of caution. Just as the website I got this from warned me I must now warn you. If your not a real drinker stay away from this drink. You could find yourself in the graveyard!

5. The Vampire's Kiss

2 0z Vodka
1 0z Pomegranate Schnapps
Pomegranate Soda or juice
Place ice (as much as you desire) in tumbler or short glass. Pour the Vodka and Schnapps over ice and finish off with either Pomegranate soda or you can just use Pomegranate juice if you prefer not to use a fizzy drink.

Enjoy this sweet and tarty drink while lavishing in your favorite Vampire flick or show.

4. Tropical Smash

Ingredients
Ice cubes
Tropical blend fruit juice
Sour Mix
1 1/2 oz Rum (I prefer dark spice Rum/Kraken)
1 1/2 oz Gin

Add your ice cubes (enough to fill a tall glass twice) into blender. Pour in two cups of Tropical Blend fruit juice (any brand). Pour in about 2 oz. of Sour mix . Then add the measured amounts of liquor and blend until you have a slushy mix. Pour into your favorite margarita glass or daiquiri glass and enjoy!

3. The Loaded Coke

Ingredients:
ice
coke
1 1/2 oz whiskey
sour mix
lime

Take a drink glass and add ice cubes. Then take 1 1/2 oz Maker’s Mark or any whiskey and pour over ice. Fill with coke leaving about  2 in. from rim to level of liquid. Finish off with sour mix and garnish with lime. Enjoy!!!

2. Apple Cider Smacker

Ingredients:
Apple Cider 8 ounces per drink
2 oz Sour Apple Mix
1 1/2 oz Vodka
Ice

In a martini shaker add ice, Apple Cider, Vodka and Sour Apple Mix and shake. Pour into a tumbler or small drinking glass and enjoy. You can also garnish with apple slices but I never do. Enjoy all through the Fall!

1. The Mad Scientist

Ingredients
Sour Apple Mix
Lemon-Lime Soda
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Tequila
1 oz Rum

In a drink mix glass or large drinking glass add some ice (however much you prefer). Take and add your three liquors. Add equal parts Sour Apple Mix and Lemon-Lime Soda and enjoy!

Satanic Sundays Top Ten Sin Filled Flicks Of 2012!

Every Sunday I highlight six occult, demonic, devilish and satanic films to celebrate the dark side of society's religiosity. Here are the top 10 Satanic Sundays! Truly Satanic films based on number ones from the theme posts over 2012!

10. Lost Souls (2000) From -Doing The Devil's Work Post-

A small group of Catholics led by an ailing priest believe that Satan intends to become man, just as God did in the person of Jesus. The writings of a possessed mental patient lead them to Peter Kelson, a writer who studies serial killers. They think it's his body Satan will occupy. The youngest in the group, a teacher named Maya Larkin, goes to Peter to investigate further and to convince him to believe in the possibility of Evil incarnate. Other signs come to him as he and Maya them take a journey full of strange occurrences, self-discovery, and an ultimate showdown. Directed by Janusz Kaminski and starring Winona Ryder, Ben Chaplin and Sarah Wynter.

9. Crownhaven Farm (1970) From-Spawned From The Devil's Lair Post-

Directed by Walter Grauman and starring Hope Lange, Paul Burke, Lloyd Bochner and  John Carradine. A young couple inherits a farm. Hoping that the rural location might help to patch up their strained marriage, they move into it, only to be confronted by the supernatural forces that inhabit it.'

8. Haxan (1922) From- The Beginning Of Occult Films Post-

I have to say that even though this film is sort of offense and inflammatory by 21st century standard the beliefs and myths were held seriously that the witches in “Haxan” was the true view of sorcery. A historical view of witchcraft in seven parts and a variety of styles. First, there is a slide-show alternating inter-titles with drawings and paintings to illustrate the behavior of pagan cultures in the Middle Ages regarding their vision of demons and witches. Then there is a dramatization of the situation of the witches in the Middle Ages, witchcraft and witch-hunts.

7. Jaws Of Satan (1981) From-Driven By The Devil Post-

Directed by Bob Claver and starring  Fritz Weaver, Gretchen Corbett, John Korkes and Norman Lloyd. “Jaws Of Satan” is about a preacher whose ancestry dates back to the Druids comes face to face with Satan in the form of very large viper.

6. Satanis: The Devil's Mass (1970) From-Truly Satanic Post-

“Satanis: The Devil’s Mass” is a 1970’s documentary about the Church Of Satan established by Anton LaVey. Filmed in the infamous ‘Black House’. You can not truly have an appreciation for cult films that embellish the Satanic unless you experience it through the very real world of  the dark followers. This is an interesting film and so is the Satanic Bible. I read it and held a copy for so many years but my deeper Buddhist rejected the teachings.

5. Necromancy (1972) From-Wonderful Evils Of Dark Magic Post-

“Necromancy” is also known as “The Witching” and stars Orson Wells as the head of a witches' coven in the town of Lilith, where he needs the powers of Pamela Franklin to raise his son from the dead.

4. Sorceress (1995) From- My Sin Filled Sin-O-Matic Post-

Directed by Jim Wynorski and starring Linda Blair and Edward Albert “Sorceress” is about two friends, who both work for the same high-priced, high-powered law firm, and both are married to modern day witches. Erica, the wife of Larry, believes that he is being led astray by Carol, an old flame, who also works for the same law firm. Erica decides to act and one night after a torrid sex session Larry drifts off to sleep and begins to dream. Soon the dream turns into a nightmare of sex, violence, murder and death involving himself, his friends and colleagues from the law firm which appears to be frighteningly realistic...

3. Black Magic Rites (1973) From-Wicked Cults And Satanic Whims Post-

From director Renato Polseli (Delirium)- Black Magic Rites - a delectable example of deluxe sleaze cinema. This insanely sadistic film depicts a series of satanic rituals conducted in the underground vaults of an ancient castle. These rites allow for lurid depictions of whippings, burnings and torture, all of which culminates in the slaughtering of seven naked virgins and a demonic orgy.

2. Hard Ride To Hell (2010) From My First Sin Filled Satanic Sundays Post-

A group of family and friends on a camping trip through the Texas badlands are taken on a one-way ride to Hell after they inadvertently witness a ritual sacrifice at a deserted campsite. Pursued by the devil worshiping biker gang responsible, they hole up in an abandoned church near the border, only to discover that they are pawns in a decades-old battle between good and evil.

1. The Sentinel (1977) From- Bringing Hell To The Holy Day Post-

Poster Released For "Resolution"

The horror flick "Resolution" hits theatres in limited release on January 25th 2013 and will be available for VOD on January 23rd. Bloody Disgusting snagged this cool theatrical release poster for the film directed by Justin Benson.

Michael (Peter Cilella) is committed to getting his best friend Chris (Vinny Curran) to sober up and get his life back on track. But what begins as an attempt to save his friend’s life quickly takes an unexpected turn as the two friends confront personal demons, the consequences of past actions, and forces beyond their control. Expertly balancing dark humor with genuine thrills and unexpected pathos, Resolution is an utterly unique cinematic experience that defies genre classification.
