“Deadly Revisions” New Name For Psychological Thriller

Deadly-Revisions-PosterIt’s a title change! Once under another name Gregory Blair’s psychological thriller get new title,  “Deadly Revisions”. Read the press release and see the trailer.

“PIX/SEE Productions announces that writer/director Gregory Blair’s mystery/thriller starring international sensation Bill Oberst, Jr. has gotten an upgrade; a new and improved title.
“While we liked the old title, which was the title of the screenplay, we wanted something totally fresh and more specific to the story we are telling,” Blair explains.
In DEADLY REVISIONS, horror film writer Grafton Torn finds hypnotherapy and nightmares reveal memories that might or might not be real…and that might or might not be deadly.
Star Bill Oberst, Jr. endorses the change.  “The new title really has more intrinsic meaning,” he says.   “I mean: yes, I’m a writer and I was in the process of making script revisions when I had my accident, but now it seems like it’s my life that’s getting revised.  I have these horrific visions that keep changing…and I don’t know which versions are reality.  If any of them are.”
Bill Oberst Jr.’s iconic screen presence has haunted dozens of films and his role in the Emmy Award winning “Take This Lollipop” has made him an international phenomenon.    He’s very excited about his role in DEADLY REVISIONS.
“The script twists so much the audience has to keep reevaluating the information they get,” Oberst explains.  ”And my character is a totally unreliable narrator, so it’s a really wild ride!”
“And a nice little twist on top of everything,” Blair adds, “is that the title itself is a revision.  How perfect is that?”

Last Days by Adam Nevill

Book Worth Reading:

13648564Adam Nevill’s Last Days isn’t due out in American until March 2013, but it is already getting great reviews in native U.K where it has been available since May 2012. This is Adam Nevill’s fourth horror novel.

Indie filmmaker Kyle Freeman is a man at the end of his tether. He faces bankruptcy and obscurity, until he lands a commission to make an unusual documentary. The Temple of the Last Days was a notorious cult, which reached its bloody endgame in the Arizona desert in 1975. Ever since, the group’s rumoured mystical secrets and paranormal experiences have lain concealed behind a history of murder, sexual deviancy and imprisonment. Kyle and his one-man crew film the cult’s original bases in London and France – finally visiting the desert crime scene where the cult self-destructed in a night of ritualistic violence. But when Kyle interviews survivors, uncanny events plague his shoots. Frightening out-of-body experiences and nocturnal visitations follow, along with the discovery of ghastly artefacts. Until Kyle realises, too late, that they’ve become entangled in the cult’s hideous legacy. Praise for Adam Nevill ‘This novel grabs from the very first page … Superb’ Guardian ‘Lean, compelling, dark, at times frightening’ The Herald ‘Horrifyingly scary … Nevill sinuously ramps up the tension’ Sunday Times

Prepare For Remake Of Erotic Thriller “Embrace Of The Vampire”

7128_0“Embrace Of The Vampire” is a 1994 cult classic that starred Alyssa Milano and was the first attempt to break from her bubble gum status that endured from all those seasons on “Who’s The Boss”. A stigma she never really broke from until “Charmed”.  Yeah there were a few sultry roles that showed her woman-ness before that but “Charmed” made it stick in peoples heads that she was fully grown. Anyway back to “Embrace Of The Vampire”. The remake will star Sharon Hinnendael. The film is already in production in Vancouver. Alan Mruvka's Filmology Labs Entertainment is teaming with Grobman-Campbell Films to produce and Cinetel Films along with Anchor Bay Entertainment, which is a division of Starz Media financing the project. Like a supernatural "Fifty Shades of Grey," story follows a virginal college student who is introduced to a dark world of carnal desires after being seduced by a handsome vampire.

A Killer Scream Queen Documentary

screamhighheels_posterCheck out “Screaming In High Heels”, a documentary on two of the biggest Scream Queens in the 80’s as well as other ladies of terror. "Screaming in High Heels" chronicles the careers of the original girls of terror as they show that cannibalism, demonic possession, flesh eating, and even chainsaw hookering is all in a days work.

Three girls living in Los Angeles, CA, in the 1980s found cult fame when they "accidentally" transitioned from models to B-movie actresses, coinciding with the major direct-to-video horror film boom of the era. Known as "The Terrifying Trio", Linnea Quigley "The Return of the Living Dead", Brinke Stevens (below) "The Slumber Party Massacre" and Michelle Bauer "The Tomb", headlined upwards of ten films per year, fending off men in rubber monster suits, pubescent teenage boys, and deadly showers.

“SCREAMING IN HIGH HEELS” hits DVD shelves on August 28th in an extra smutty unrated edition.

After a March DVD release, consistent press, numerous great reviews and loyal fans, MY PURE JOY found it's way onto the amazon Best sellers list in Horror for a few weeks. It still flickers on and off the list every day.

MY PURE JOY is a story of teenage angst taken to the extreme. It's Tipper Gore's worst nightmare come to life, because as every suburban mother of a teenage boy knows if you keep watching those horror movies, you're going to end up being a serial killer. And that is exactly what has happened to our anti-hero, Adam. On the outside, Adam appears to be a normal teenager; but from single-handedly caring for his abusive and dying father years earlier, Adam has learned that the only way to get people to respect you is through fear and intimidation. His mind has been so rotted by trauma from his past and the gory films he watches, that he has blurred the line between reality and pretend. This prompts him to start killing people in similar ways to his favorite slasher films making sure to put his own little spin on the violence.
This was the first feature film by James Cullen Bressack, who has been labeled “Horror’s New Hope” Since the films release James has landed multiple new projects and is heading out to direct a large budget horror feature in thailand this january, produced by Daemon Hillin and Benetone Films.

The Film Stars: Alexei Ryan, Cory Jacob, Jd Fairman, Christopher Chandler, and Lisa Frantz

Poster And Trailer For “The Man With The Iron Fists”

man-with-the-iron-fists-poster-378x600
Quentin Tarantino presents The Man With the Iron Fists, an action-adventure inspired by kung-fu classics as interpreted by his longtime collaborators RZA and Eli Roth.  Making his debut as a big-screen director and leading man, RZA—alongside a stellar international cast led by Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu—tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero in nineteenth-century China who must unite to destroy the clan traitor who would destroy them all.
Since his arrival in China’s Jungle Village, the town’s blacksmith (RZA) has been forced by radical tribal factions to create elaborate tools of destruction.  When the clans’ brewing war boils over, the stranger channels an ancient energy to transform himself into a human weapon.  As he fights alongside iconic heroes and against soulless villains, one man must harness this power to become savior of his adopted people.
Blending astonishing martial-arts sequences from some of the masters of this world with the signature vision he brings as the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan and as one of hip-hop’s most dominant figures of the past two decades, RZA embarks upon his most ambitious, stylized and thrilling project to date.

Check out the new image of Vin Diesel in the next “The Chronicles Of Riddick” film.
243700_10151881811470545_1624103558_o
Synopsis:
The latest chapter of the saga that began with 2000's hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.
The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he's encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.
The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won't leave the planet without Riddick's head as their trophy.
Riddick also sees the return of Karl Urban (Star Trek) as Vaako and introduces to the series previously announced cast member Jordi Molla as Santana, the arrogant captain of the mercenary ship; Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, a man looking for answers; Katee Sackhoff (TV's "Battlestar Galactica") as the Nordic mercenary Dahl; and Bokeem Woodbine (upcoming Total Recall) as bounty hunter Moss. Rounding out the cast are Dave Bautista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (TV's "Aliens in America") and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson.
The film will be released by Universal Pictures in the U.S., and Lionsgate is handling international sales.

Book Worth Reading:

baggott01About the Book: Forthcoming
We know you are here, our brothers and sisters...
Pressia barely remembers the Detonations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost—how the world went from amusement parks, movie theaters, birthday parties, fathers and mothers . . . to ash and dust, scars, permanent burns, and fused, damaged bodies. And now, at an age when everyone is required to turn themselves over to the militia to either be trained as a soldier or, if they are too damaged and weak, to be used as live targets, Pressia can no longer pretend to be small. Pressia is on the run.
There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and lonely. Different. He thinks about loss—maybe just because his family is broken; his father is emotionally distant; his brother killed himself; and his mother never made it inside their shelter. Or maybe it's his claustrophobia: his feeling that this Dome has become a swaddling of intensely rigid order. So when a slipped phrase suggests his mother might still be alive, Partridge risks his life to leave the Dome to find her.
When Pressia meets Partridge, their worlds shatter all over again.

Book Worth Reading:

Grief stricken and suicidal;  the extreme guilt over the awful things he’s done pushes the young Marine beyond his breaking point until death feels like his only remaining option.
Rather than eating a bullet, Tyrone volunteers for Tunnel Rat duty hoping to finally find release but instead of his carefully planned honorable death, what the Marine finds down in the dark is a backdoor to Purgatory, a secret entrance into the afterlife where he’ll get one last chance to right all the terrible wrongs that constantly haunt him. It won’t be easy, though. Nothing worthwhile ever is. If Tyrone thought the things lurking in the jungle of Vietnam were bad, what’s waiting for him on the dark side of Heaven is worse.
Much, much worse…

Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. My Review Of “The Collective V.4: Emotions”

1054“The Collective” is an ongoing anthology series from Jabb Pictures that brings together 10 directors to tell 10 stories with one common theme. In the fourth installment “The Collective V.4” the directors dealt with stories of emotions. They chose what emotion they wanted to build their story around and delicious visual bizarre things happen. The emotions explored in this collection range from anger to lust, hate to fear. This time around their was more at stake, this being Volume 4 the stories had to fill some pretty impressive shoes. I love “The Collective” and think it is a refreshing boost into the Indie horror genre with some awesomely tight talent.

Now on to my review of “Emotions” that brings us stories from Red Panic Button Films director Dakota Meyer, Over Analyzed Productions director David Paul Bonnell, Liberty Or Death Productions director James Mannan, Jabb Pictures director Jason Hoover, 3 O’Clock Productions director Jim Dougherty, Spiral Filmworks director Jason Hoover, Freakwolf Productions director Bryan Wolford, Cinephreak Pictures director Jacob Bilinski, Winged Dolphin Pictures director David Ross, Dustin Mills Productions director Dustin Mills.

Watching “Frankie” is like walking into the middle of a horrible crime taking place. The gritty in your face melodrama plays out with real life precision that is both disturbing and captivating. The way the camera circles the scene slowly as the character’s torment continues is hypnotic and powerful.

“Contrition” is more of a tease for a bigger story. It follows a geneticist who creates man from beast instead of the traditional man into beast. The short is a glimpse into a much more darker story. Directed by Jim Dougherty this was an intriguing short film.

“Flash Of Wire” is a classic film noir styled short that is reminiscent  of “Thriller” or “Night Gallery” series. It is a very sinister and amusing tale of Theseus that gives proper tribute to timeless comedies of our past.

“Epidemic” by Dustin Mills is a one man joint circling the drain of infection. It is a gory and visual pandemic that can test your gag reflex. A very cool and gruesome short film.

“Death Do Us Part” is a slow paranormal experience that has a researcher getting caught in the path of departed lovers. A bizarre memoir of romance told in a melancholy way.

“Mychtophobia” is a true psychological thriller. The story is intense and the direction is awesome. A very dark and dramatic trip into phobias where nightmares live. It is a twisted and refreshing story that warrants more.

“Luke 1:71” is about anger and rage. All these hate driven emotions of wasted and abused youth. It is a gritty look into urban cinema verite that is raw and dramatic.

“101 Taylor St.” is a narrative of one very gruesome story from Americana. Set against beautifully shot scenes of the area as well as the crime scene this documentary styled short is commanding and shocking as it tells the story of Martha Louise Kemper.

“Happy Hooker Bang Bang” by David Paul Bonnell is a gory exploitation flick that is dark and wicked. A bloody action sequence that is full of post modern gore filled fun. This was an entertaining short that begs feature length attention.

“Bloody Hooker Bang Bang: A Love Story” is basically the continuation of “Happy Hooker Bang Bang”. Thank you, more please. This is one of the freshest and coolest stories ever. Reminds me of “Hobo With A Shotgun”. I still say full length feature please!

“The Collective V.4: Emotions” is one cool addition to the anthology collection. The stories are modern filled with new concepts and devilish twists. Some of the best of modern Indie talent around are found within “The Collective” and Volume 4 is no exception.

“Tall Man” May Be The Film That Warms Me To Miss Biel

the-tall-man-one-sheetI have made it known that I just don’t like Jessica Biel. I think it falls back to those endless years of stupid “Seventh Heaven” shows that never seemed to stop. I tried to like her as an actress in “Texas Chainsaw” but couldn’t get past the whole “Well to-do, snotty, suburbanite, rich girl” thing that she seems to put off. However with her character in Total Recall not seeming to make that movie suck and this new creepy child killer flick I think I may start warming up to her.

"Cold Rock, U.S.A. - A darkness hovers upon the town: children have gone missing over the years leaving neither a clue nor a witness. Superstitious locals talk of The Tall Man, a legendary, mysterious dark figure who takes children away never to be seen again. Julia (Biel), is a nurse living in Cold Rock who doesn't believe in legends. Until one night, waking up with an eerie feeling she goes to her son's bedroom and find his bed empty. Rushing downstairs she stops dead in her tracks: a huge dark figure stands in the entrance holding her son David. Driven by pure instinct, Julia rushes after them willing to do whatever it takes to get her son back. The chase is on and with it the quest for answers: who is The Tall man? What becomes of the children?"

“I was glad you came over,” Paulo said after they’d finished the appetizers and waited on the next course.
LC had been surprised, too. He’d been restless for months and prowling the club scene no longer held his interest. Crave was sold and things were moving forward.
Everyone was moving forward and he’d been standing still. At first, there had been a lot to do with the sale of the club and the lofts and the construction of the new apartments he and Damon bought, along with the rest of the building. They were now living on opposite ends of the top floor, and the plan was to renovate and rent the rest of the apartments.
There was still a hell of a lot to do, but LC didn’t feel like handling any of it, especially not last night. No, he’d wanted to handle someone, and his car had pointed in the direction of Paulo’s place almost as if he’d had no control.
But LC knew that was bullshit.
Paulo had barely been able to get out a hello before LC had him pinned, telling Paulo he’d been dreaming about him before he could stop himself. After that, it was a blur of hands and tongues and oh yeahs, and then LC was agreeing to dinner, because he’d just taken the man without so much as a this-is-where-I’ve-been-for-the-past-few-months explanation.
He’d stayed through until the sun came up and straggled back to his new place, and now he was here, next to this man in this dark restaurant, and he’d been turned on from the time Paulo had picked him up.
If he was honest with himself, Paulo was handling him, and LC liked it.
Paulo hadn’t asked him any more about the dreams LC had about him, and for that, LC was grateful. Because this, the tug in the stomach when Paulo looked at him, was new…the first time since Styx, and he knew this man could make him happy, if he allowed it.
He downed the rest of his wine and stood before he told Paulo that. “Headed to the restroom—I’ll be back.”
“I’d join you, but I have a reputation in this place,” Paulo said with a sly smile.
“I’m sure.” LC threaded his way through the back hallway, found the men’s room. He pissed and washed up in the private restroom, wiped his hands on a paper towel, and it was all normal. So normal.
Until the lights went out and shots rang out inside the restaurant and an arm came up across his body, a hand over his mouth, and his natural instinct to fight like hell was quelled with a single breath.
Styx. He’d recognize the man’s scent—his touch—blindfolded. Many a time he’d actually done so, but this situation was a thousand percent different.
“Not a word.” Styx’s voice, rough like gravel. Rougher when he was angry or aroused. His breath was warm and minty—Altoids. The man had always been addicted to them.
Damn, you remembered the oddest things when your ass was on the line. And speaking of asses, his was pressed hard to Styx’s groin…and the man’s arousal was unmistakable. Nice to know he wasn’t the only one affected by the close proximity.
He moved his head and Styx took his hand away.
“Paulo,” he said, and Styx answered, “Your friend’s safe—my associate has him.”
Good, that was good, but Jesus, what was going on here?
He heard the slight snick of a gun’s safety being released and then heavy footsteps. Whoever was coming wasn’t interested in stealth.
Not good.
“Whatever happens, stay put in here. I’ll take care of everything.” Styx barely mouthed the words but LC heard them loud and clear. And then he was left alone in the dark, and yeah, that was the story of his goddamned life with and without Styx, and he listened and waited.
No more shots, but someone had been killed. LC had been around stealth and death long enough in the Army to the point where he could taste the violence. He’d been on the receiving end of it since birth.
Goddammit, LC, shake it off.
And then Styx was back, tugging at him, and LC resisted. “I’m not going anywhere until you tell me what the hell’s going on out there.”
“There’s trouble. Now shut up and do what I say.”
“I’m so beyond listening to you.”
“You have no idea who and what you’re up against. Come with me,” Styx said, and LC reluctantly followed him into the restaurant’s storeroom, close to the parking lot. And even though it was dark as night inside the restaurant’s back room, LC would know the man, could practically see the dark blond hair, longer than it had been, eyes that never failed to mesmerize him, the hard body and even harder cock that had probed him earlier.
LC knew what he was up against—and he was powerless to stop it. And when he started to edge past Styx, Styx let him go at first and then pushed him hard against the wall by the door.
“Are you with that guy?” he whispered into LC’s neck, and he wanted to tell Styx not to do that.
Instead, he ground out, “His name is Paulo. And now you’re worried about my dating habits?”
“I’m always worried about you.”
“The not calling or writing is a great way to show that.”
“It’s the way it has to be.”
Has to be…not using the past tense meant that’s what would happen after Styx did whatever it was he needed to here. “What, exactly, is happening out there to get the CIA involved?”
“Can’t tell you.”
“Right. I don’t have the clearance to be involved in any part of your life.” Never did. Never would. “Let go of me.”
“You can’t leave now.”
“Then you’ll have to arrest me.”
With that, Styx reached up and yanked LC’s arms down and behind his back, and when the cuffs snicked on his wrists, he cursed bitterly. “Where’s Paulo?”
“Safe.”
“Not what I asked.”
“Are you two serious?”
“Why don’t you tell me? You’ve been spying on me for God knows how long.”
“I call it keeping you safe.”

Hard Boiled Vampire Killers By Jim Gavin

Book Worth Reading:

front_med__42878_zoomMost people would call Ty Trotter a loser. He lives off his vampire girlfriend, can't hold a job, drinks and smokes the cheapest stuff on the shelves, and is Chairman for Life of his own Pity Committee, spending all his free time getting drunk, watching late-night TV and feeling sorry for himself.
Most people would call Ed Ma a nerd. He lives with his parents and attends school part time. He doesn't have a job, doesn't talk to girls, doesn't know how to network, and doesn't know what he wants to do when he finally grows up. He does what his momma tells him and always tries to be a good son. He spends all his free time either at the gym or on the internet.
But while most people are asleep, Ty and Ed roam the streets of Atlanta, pushing the darkness back an inch at a time by any means necessary. You see, they hunt vampires, the parasitic undead that threaten the good people of the city. Ty snipes them with a big-game rifle, Ed cuts 'em down a sword backed up by kung fu power.
Maybe they really are losers. They sure ain't registered voters, college professors, or members of the Chamber of Commerce. But they are... HARD BOILED VAMPIRE KILLERS
